Monday, Sept. 15

Highlights:
  • Today in Literacy, we read a story called The Dot. Today is International Dot Day! Ask me what the important message was in the story.
  • As part of our Word Work, we reviewed the endings -tch, and -dge. We talked about the rules when we use them. Ask me what are some examples of words that have those endings.
  • In Phys. Ed, we played a game called Last Person Standing. Ask me how we play!
  • During Math, we did a check-in on different skills that we have learned in the past. We worked on skills such as addition/subtraction basic facts, ordering numbers on a number line, and comparing numbers. After, we learned a new game called Wipeout!

  • For Reading Groups, we learned another new centre, which was technology. We used Epic! to read and listen to different stories.
  • In Social Studies, we created a chart of what we know and what we wonder about Alberta. Alberta will be our main topic for the year!
Reminders:
  • We are collecting Toonies for Terry all week. Families can also donate online by visiting https://schools.terryfox.ca/98133
  • We will be doing our Terry Fox Run on Thursday.
  • As part of our learning this year, we will be using technology. Students are welcome to bring wired headphones that they can use. Please ensure that they are labelled.
